Exploring characters, creatures, and worlds through iterative design and visual storytelling
My passion for Fantasy began at a young age. Watching The Lord of the Rings trilogy, along with family recommendations like Ocarina of Time, inspired me to start creating worlds of my own. I began working with 3D programs, including Unreal Engine, CryEngine, and Unity, while experimenting with environment art.
However, throughout high school, I discovered that my true passion was in 2D art, specifically the process of concept art and the illustrations that follow. 2D left behind many of the restrictions I felt in 3D, and allowed for more creative control.
Now, I am a Fine Arts student at the University of Washington, based in Seattle. I am currently developing my concept art and illustration portfolio while doing freelance illustration and design work on the side. My focus is on character and creature design, with additional work in environment and landscape art. While my passion is with Fantasy, most of my projects stem from personal worldbuilding projects that expand beyond Fantasy and standard genre conventions.
I approach each piece with a focus on iteration and research, ensuring each design feels immersive, thoughtful, and fully realized.
